This is a very richly inked original etching, image size 8 5/8 x 11 1/8 inches, 1939, published by the Print Club, Cleveland, Ohio, plate signed and dated, pencil signed. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

This is a  rare etching by American modernist Leonard Baskin.  The title is Oedipus at Collonus, created and printed in 1969 in an edition of 100.  This impression is hand signed, titled and numbered as 36/100.  The platemark measures 23 1/2X17 1/2 inches.  It appears as image number 553 in the Baskin Catalog.  Very nice condition.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson.  The title is: Quai Duperre, La Rochelle, This etching was created and printed in 1928 in an edition of 85.  The image measures 8 1/4X13 1/4 inches.  Printed on an old laid type paper.  Hand signed in pencil lower border.  This image appears in the R.A.A. catalog as image number 183.

This is a finely detailed etching by American artist Max Kuehne.  The scene is: New York from Weehawken, N.J.  It was created and printed circa 1930's.  The image measures 10X13 1/2 inches.  Pencil signed and titled in the lower border.  Printed on a J. Whatman medium weight laid type paper.

This is a fine original etching by California artist John Winkler.  The title: Fisherman's Home on Telegraph Hill, pencil signed, created and printed circa 1920.  Superb condition.  The image measures6X9 3/4 inches. " Winkler studied at the California Institute of Arts and published his first original etching in 1915. During the following eight years he established a large national reputation for his etchings, the great majority being depictions of San Francisco and its environs...Like Whistler, Winkler had the ability to capture life and movement with the utmost simplicity." This engraving by James Smillie measures 15 x 22 3/4 inches. Created after four paintings by Hudson River School founder Thomas Cole, this early lettered proof impression, published in Boston by L.A. Elliot, reads, "From the original Painting by Thomas Cole, in the possession of Rev.d Gorham D. Abbott, Spingler Institute, New York", under the title on the lower margin. Also included on the lower margin is a poem by J.H. Daniels. In 1842 Thomas Cole did a series of paintings that represented an allegory for the four stages of life; childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. Each phase accompanied by a guardian angel. In "Old Age" the voyager is looking across the river of life towards an angel filled sky, ready to enter the kingdom of heaven. Cole's paintings were converted to engravings after his death and widely distributed during "The Third Awakening", a period of religious activism from the late 1850's to the early 1900's.

This 1920 etching by the American artist Joseph Pennell measures 9 3/4 x 7 7/8 inches, pencil signed, edition of probably 50 proofs, cat: Wuerth 740. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes. He also printed many of his own images.

This is a remarkable original etching by William Lionel Wyllie, image size 9 1/4 x 14 inches, c. 1900, pencil signed, titled on the lower edge of the sheet. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker in early 20th century London. He studied at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, then at the age of 15 began his studies at the Royal Academy. At the age of 18, Wyllie won the Turner Gold Medal for his painting "Dawn After A Storm". He went on to have a long artistic career, specializing in paintings and etchings of the sea and the city of London. In this etching, Wyllie uses remarkably delicate lines and subtle tones to create an atmospheric image of fishing boats setting out to sea.

This is a very fine original etching by American expatriate artist Walter MacEwen. Image size 6 x 4 inches, c. 1910, pencil signed. Born in Chicago, MacEwen traveled to Europe to study art, first in Munich with Frank Duveneck, then in Paris with Corman and Robert-Fleury. He stayed in Europe for many years with studios in both Paris and Holland, where he was also a founding member of the Egmond Artist Colony. Primarily a painter, MacEwen was known for his impressionistic portraits and genre scenes which were quite well received in both Europe and America. His etchings, which are quite scarce, are developed in a very painterly style, reflecting the delicate use of light and shadow of his paintings.

This atmospheric winter scene by the American artist, Ronau Woiceske measures 8 3/8 x 11 inches, pencil signed and titled. Woiceske was born in Bloomington Indiana and studied at the St Louis School of Fine Arts and at the Artist Colony in Woodstock, NY with Birge Harrison and John Carlson. He was involved in the WPA, and became known for his atmospheric etchings of snowy winter scenes. He was a member of the Philadelphia Print Club and the National Association of Etchers.

This is a drypoint etching from 1912. Plate measures 13 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches in a 21 1/2 x 17 1/2 inch gold frame. Edition of 200, from the Paris series. Signed in the plate in the lower right, with the publisher's blindstamp, le Cercle Moderne, in the lower left. Probably printed by the artist in black ink on cream wove paper with full margins, as issued. A fine impression with a rich drypoint burr.
