This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is The Debacle of De Lesseps, Panama.  This was part of his Panama Canal series that Pennell created in 1912, showing the construction of the Canal through Panama.  THe title refers to The French diplomat Ferdinand de Lesseps, who undertook the project in 1875 and failed.  The image measures 9 3/8X12 1/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight watermarked laid type sheet.

This is an original engraving by French artist Jean-Emile Laboureur (1877-1943)  The title is: La Promenade Sur Le Port, it was created and printed 1933 and was used as the presentation print for the Print Club of Cleveland.  In an edition of 235.  This engraving is hand signed in pencil lower left border, printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Kerr Eby.  The title is: Christmas Trees, created and printed in  1940 in an edition of 100.  The image measures 9 1/4X12 3/4 inches.  nicely framed.  This image appears in the Giardina catalog as image number 202.  The scene was most likely taken in Connecticut near his home.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Ernest Roth.  The subject is: Fondamenta Rielo, Venice, created and printed in 1924.  The image measures 10 3/8X9 3/4 inches.  Titled and dated lower border in the artist's hand.Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Denker catalog as image number 67.  Between the dates 1905-1941 Roth created 45 views of Venice.

This is a great London etching by American artist Clifford Addams, image size 8 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, c. 1902, edition of 75, inscribed in the plate, "Loci dulcedo nos attinet" (the sweetness of the place holds us), pencil signed and numbered. Clifford Addams grew up outside Philadelphia and studied art in the U. S. before leaving to further his studies in Europe. He traveled extensively throughout Holland, France, Spain, Italy and Britain, and spent several years in London studying etching with Whistler. He later returned to the U. S. and worked out of studios in both New York and London. He was known for his European city scenes, such as this Whistleresque image of a man gazing out over the busy Thames.

This drypoint etching of the English landscape painter, Charles March Gere, c. 1927, measures 12 x 10 1/4 inches and is pencil signed on the lower right margin. Francis Dodd was born in Wales and trained at the Glasgow School of Art winning the Haldane Scholarship in 1893 enabling him to travel and study in France, Italy and Spain. During WWI he became a portrait war artist producing more than 30 portraits of senior officers. After the war he gained considerable notoriety for his watercolors as well as his printmaking.

This is a fine original etching by California artist John Winkler.  The title: Fisherman's Home on Telegraph Hill, pencil signed, created and printed circa 1920.  Superb condition.  The image measures6X9 3/4 inches. " Winkler studied at the California Institute of Arts and published his first original etching in 1915. During the following eight years he established a large national reputation for his etchings, the great majority being depictions of San Francisco and its environs...Like Whistler, Winkler had the ability to capture life and movement with the utmost simplicity." This is a finely detailed etching by American artist Max Kuehne.  The scene is: New York from Weehawken, N.J.  It was created and printed circa 1930's.  The image measures 10X13 1/2 inches.  Pencil signed and titled in the lower border.  Printed on a J. Whatman medium weight laid type paper.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist Stanley Anderson.  The title is: Quai Duperre, La Rochelle, This etching was created and printed in 1928 in an edition of 85.  The image measures 8 1/4X13 1/4 inches.  Printed on an old laid type paper.  Hand signed in pencil lower border.  This image appears in the R.A.A. catalog as image number 183.

This is a  rare etching by American modernist Leonard Baskin.  The title is Oedipus at Collonus, created and printed in 1969 in an edition of 100.  This impression is hand signed, titled and numbered as 36/100.  The platemark measures 23 1/2X17 1/2 inches.  It appears as image number 553 in the Baskin Catalog.  Very nice condition.

This is a very richly inked original etching, image size 8 5/8 x 11 1/8 inches, 1939, published by the Print Club, Cleveland, Ohio, plate signed and dated, pencil signed. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

This etching by the British artist Seymour Haden measures 7 x 10 1/4 inches, pencil signed, plate dated 1874, I/V, Cat: Schneiderman-144. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894.

This is a drypoint etching by French artist Louis Legrand.  The title is : English Bar, from his Album Les Bars, published by Pellet in Paris in 1909.  This impression is from the first state of three with the Remarque of a Woman in Profile.  The image measures 9 3/4X5 5/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil, printed on a Japon type paper.  Numbered as 1/30.

This is an original etching with drypoint by British artist Seymour Haden.  The title is Cowdray Castle with Geese.  It was created and printed in 1882, this is the forth state of five.  Hand signed in pencil , printed on a laid type paper.  Titled and dated lower left in the image.  The image measures 6X9 1/2 inches.  This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 208.
