This is an original drypoint etching by well known American artist and Architect Samuel Chamberlain.  The title is: Valley of the Var,  The location is Entrevaux, France.  This image was created and printed in 1940, it is pencil signed and editioned as: 5/100.  Printed with a warm toned ink, the image measures 10 7/8X13 3/16 inches.  This image appears in the Chamberlain catalog as image number 132.

This is an original etching by British artist Edward Bouverie Hoyton (1900-1988)  The title is: St. Hubert's Chapel, it was created and printed circa 1930's.  The image measures 7 7/16X11 1/8 inches,   Pencil signed lower right border, printed on a medium weight buff toned laid type paper.  A very rich impression.  Edward Bouverie- Hoyton was in the same etching class as Paul Drury and Graham Sutherland. They remained friends throughout their lives. His early work came under the spell of Samuel Palmer but he was also influenced by the etchings of artists such as John Crome and John Sell Cotman of the Norwich School.

Biography Saito, Kaoru (1931 - )

Saito Kaoru was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1931. He studied Fine Art under Tsuruta Gorō and Arai Tatsuo from 1948-1950. He became a member of the Shunyo-kai and he is mainly known for his mezzotints. He has had countless exhibitions, and he is generally considered one of Japan's finest mezzotint artists. He now lives in Hayama, also in Kanagawa.

This is a fine original lithograph by American artist Daniel Putnam Brinley 1879-1963.  This image is a view of Assisi that he created on a European trip he took in the 1920's.  This image is hand signed in pencil, and has an image size of 14X10 7/8 inches.Brinley was a MacDowell Colony Fellow and exhibited at the Stieglitz gallery in New York City.  The image is numbered lower left 12.
