This is an original drypoint etching by French artist Paul Cesar Helleu.  It is identified as Elegante au Chapeau, created and printed C. 1900 in a small edition.  The image measures 15 3/4X11 1/8 inches. Twice  signed in pencil lower left border and lower left within the platemark.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper with the Helleu watermark. Richly inked burr still evident.

This is a very cool lithograph on zinc, image size 12 5/8 x 17 7/8 inches, 1919-1920, from a very small edition of 27 or fewer impressions, cat: Czestochowski-134, printed by Bolton Brown, pencil signed. Provenance: The Cleveland Museum of Art. Davies was a truly remarkable artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries known for his dreamlike etchings and lithographs. In his catalog raisonne of Davies work, Czestochowski writes "In a time of social, political, scientific and artistic upheaval, Davies hewed to an unwavering inner vision, one of classically graceful figures in an eternal dance with nature." This image is a beautiful homage to the ancient Greeks, which Davies portrays in his distinctive style that is at once quite classical and quite modern.

This is an original aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe.  The title is; Fleur d'Automne, created and printed in 1903 in an edition of 65, this one is numbered as 55/65  lower left border and hand signed in pencil lower right border.  The image measures 19 1/2X14 7/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  This image appears in the Merrill Chase catalog as image number 46.  Fine rich impression.

This is one of the finest color block prints by French artist Paul Jacoulet.  The title: Retour De La Jungle, Tondano: Celebes, This image was created and printed in 1948, Pencil signed, with the Sparrow seal.  This image measures 15 3/4X12 inches.  The artist used a fine coral powder to give dimension to the compositional colors.  He also experimented with Gofun, an egg white derivative that produced a rich opaque effect.  This image appears in the Jacoulet catalog as image number 90.  Nicely framed, this wood block is in beautiful condition.

This is an original etching by American Ash Can School artist John Sloan.  The title is: Boys Sledding,  it was created and printed in 1920 in an edition of 100.  This impression is hand signed in pencil, titled and annotated a "100 Proofs in the lower border.  The image mesures 5 1/4X6 15/16 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet, with tack  holes where the artist held the sheet down to dry.  Very fine condition.

One of the finest portrait etchings ever  created by British artist Gerald Brockhurst.  "Henry Rushbury", created and printed in 1930.  Rushbury, like Brockhurst studied at the Birmingham School of Art and the two later shared an apartment in London.  Rushbury was an accomplished etcher as well...  This etching is very richly printed, the subtle tonal range is incredible in person, our scan doesn't .do this image justice.  Absolutely one of the finest portraits .  This etching measures 10X7 3/8 inches, pencil signed and titled by the artist in the lower border, printed in an edition of 111.  Very fine condition.

This atmospheric etching is a great example of the delicate lines and precise detail for which Arms was known. This image won several awards in the early 1940s; the Mrs. Henry F Noyes Memorial Prize for best print at the 27th Annual Exhibition of the Society of American Etchers, New York, N.Y. 1943; the First Prize in Black and White Section at the 12th Annual Exhibition of the Irvington Art and Museum Association, Irvington, N. This is a very rare first state etching by American artist Frank Benson.  The subject is a portrait of the American violinist and composer Charles Martin Loeffler.  It was created and printed in 1919, with this being one of 6 first state impressions, printed on a laid Van Gelder paper.  The image measures 9 7/8X8 inches, hand signed in pencil, and inscribed first state.  Very fine condition printed in a brown toned ink.  This image appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 156.  The later published edition numbered only 20 impressions.

This is an original lithograph by Japanese American artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi.  It is titled The Cyclist.  It was created and printed in 1939 and originally sold through Associated American Artists in New York.  The image measures 12 1/2X8 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  This lithograph is clearly signed in pencil lower right by the artist.  One of his images from his circus series.

This is a fine original mezzotint by American artist Reynold Weidenaar.  The subject is: "Bridge Builders, Mackinac Straits", created and printed in  1956, published by the Society of American Etchers in an edition of 243.  This mezzotint is hand signed and titled in pencil.  The image measures 12 11/16X6 7/8 inches.  One of his most important works.

This etching by Arthur Briscoe measures 7 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches. Ink signed and numbered on cream laid paper, 1924. Cat: Hurst-85. Framed. Briscoe is known as one of the finest marine etcher of the 20th. century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. He studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris.
