This is a fine woodcut print by Jamaican artist Albert Huie.  This image is hand signed in pencil and titled: Seaside.  The image measures 9X6 1/2 inches.  Albert Huie (1920-2010) was a seminal figure in the formation and development of a national Jamaican artistic identity, overcoming the hurdles of a colonial-based system of race and class distinctions to become the first native-born Jamaican artist to attain international renown and respect. Working primarily in the areas of landscape, portraiture, and figurative art, he established a multiple award-winning career that spanned seven decades and earned him the title of “the Father of Jamaican Painting.”

This is a pencil signed rare etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title written in the artists hand is The Monument from the Palatine, Rome,1911.  This etching has an alternate titled of Old and New Rome, as what appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 622.  the image measures 12 1/4X9 1/4 inches. The edition is noted as 40.  "The Palatine Hill, which relative to the seven hills of Rome is the centremost, is one of the most ancient parts of the city; it has been called "the first nucleus of the Roman Empire".  This  etching is framed.

This is one of her best known works:  A woodengraving by American artist Betty Waldo Parish.  This print was  created and printed in 1935.  A view known as Under the El, First Avenue, NYC.  Also known as the Fruit Market.  The wood engraving is hand signed and titled in pencil.  The image measures 10X7 inches, nicely framed with archival boards.  Very good condition, only a couple of pale foxing marks in the border, unobtrusive.  Parish lived in New York City and studied with John Sloan and later Stanley Hayter in London.  She is best known for her wood engravings of New York.

This is one of the largest etched plates by French artist Maxime Lalanne, created in 1881, the title of this work is: Souvenir d'un Port Trouville, Calvados.  It is the second state of three with the sailboat remarque lower left and a rare pencil signature lower in the right hand border area.  The image measures 10X15 3/4 inches.  Richly printed on a medium weight simi parchment like paper.  The sheet size measures 15 3/4X19 1/2 inches.

This is an atmospheric scene of a ship coming into port, pulled by a tugboat; it is rendered with remarkabley delicate lines and a rich yet quite subtle tonal range, giving a strong sense of a soft morning fog over calm waters. The canvas sails of the ship beautifully contrast with the steam of the tug as is dissipates into the misty air. The image measures 19 x 23 inches, published in 1887, pencil signed on the lower right margin. "Copyright R. Cleveland Coxe, 1887, NY" is printed on the lower center, with a remarque of an anchor in the lower left margin. Framed. Coxe studied at the National Academy before going to Paris to study with Leon Bonnat. A painter and etcher, Coxe best works were of seascapes of the New England Coast.
