This is a rare early state etching by Sir Francis Seymour Haden, image size 5 3/8 x 8 3/8 inches, 1864, state VI/XIII, cat: Schneiderman-72, pencil signed. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894.

This is an original drypoint and etching by French artist Alphonse Legros (1837-1911)  The title of this work is: "Les Faiseurs de Fagots", created circa 1870 this image measures 15X10 7/8 inches, hand signed in pencil lower right border, very fine condition, the image appears in the Bliss catalog as image number 182, ii/xiv, the second state of 14.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Charles Adams Platt.  The title is: Buttermilk Channel.  with the Statue of Liberty in the background.  This etching was created and printed in 1889, the image measures 10 3/4X6 5/8 inches.  It appears in the Platt catalog as image number 107.  This etching is lightly toned, framed.

This is an original etching by American artist Kenneth Hayes Miller.  The image is titled: Leaving the Shop, created and printed in 1929 in an edition of 20.  The image measures 7 7/8X9 7/8  inches, printed on a wove type sheet.  "He exhibited four works in the 1913 Armory Show and had his first one-person exhibition in 1916 at the Macbeth Gallery, New York. In 1929 he was included in the Museum of Modern Art's first exhibition of works by American artists, "Paintings by Nineteen Living Americans." He became an associate of the National Academy of Design in 1942,"

St Pauls in Wartime from the North.  This etching is pencil signed and  was created and  printed in 1941.  The image measures 7 7/8X11 7/8 inches.  Very fine condition  printed on  a medium weight laid type paper.

This is a fine pencil signed lithograph by French impressionist Edmond Francois Aman-Jean.  This image measures 13 3/8X14 5/8 inches.  Very fine condition, printed on a wove type paper.  The subject is Mile Moreno  who played in  the Comedie Francaise show this image was created and printed in  1898

This is a fine original hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Lord.  The title is: Fantasy in Blue, created and printed circa 1925.  This image is pencil signed and numbered as 39/75.  The image measures 13 3/4X10 1/4 inches.  Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.

This is a fine atmospheric etching by British artist Frank Short, the title is: The Old Chelsea Bridge and Church, by the RIver Thames, it was created and printed in  1884.  Hand signed in pencil the image measures 6 5/8X14 1/8 inches.  Printed in brown ink on a heavy weight wove type sheet.

This is a fine large etching by French artist Alphonse Legros.  The title is; Le Retour du Bois (Return from the Woods), Created circa 1880's.  This was part of his series known as Death and the Wood cutter.  This pencil signed impression measures 9 1/4X14 inches.  Legros was a well known founder of the etching revival in France.  This is one of his largest compositions.  This image is in the collections of many museums through out the world.  The catalog listing is Bliss 565.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper with partial watermark.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Frank Benson.  The title is: Widgeon Rising, created and printed in 1920 in an edition of 150.  The image measures 11 3/8X7 3/8 inches.  This image appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 172.  Nice use of plate tone in the sky and land.

This is an original pencil signed etching by American artist Lawrence Kupferman.  The title of this work is:
"Victorian Carriage House". This etching was created and printed in 1939 and is editioned as 13/100.  The etching is signed and titled in the lower border, the image measures 9 3/4X11 5/8 inches.

This is a fine modernist wood engraving by American artist John P. Heins (1896-1969)  This wood engraving was created and printed 1936 in an edition of about 28, created for the WPA in NYC.  The image measures 5 7/8X7 3/4 inches.  This is a rare unstamped proof purchased from the artist's estate.

This is a fine impression of the well known Seymour Haden etching, The Towing Path.  Created in 1864, this impression done in drypoint and etching is the 7th state of 12.  This etching measures 5 9/16X8 1/2 inches.  Hand signed in pencil and printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  The French title is: "La Promenade Au Bord De L'Eau"  This image appears in the Schneidermann catalog as image number 72  VII/XII.
