This is a rare wood engraving by American artist Stefan Hirsch (1899-1964)  The title of this work is the Pencil Seller, created and printed circa 1930's.  This image pencil signed lower border has an image size of 12X9 inches.  The borders are a bit trimmed.

This is a fine original wood engraving by American artist Grace Albee.  The title is: A Peaceful Afternoon, created and printed in 1943 in an edition of 300.  This wood engraving is hand signed, titled and editioned in pencil lower border.  The image measures 5 5/8X7 1/4 inches.

Plate measures 11 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches on 16 1/4 x 10 1/4 inch blue laid type paper. This print has plate toning and enchanting linework.

This is an original engraving with etching by French engraver, Pierre A. Aveline (1702-1760)  The title is L' Ete, it was created after the painting by Francois Boucher  This view of sleeping Puti, was created and printed circa 1750, printed by "Paris Ches Charpentier, rue st jacques au cog".  The image measures 11 3/8X8 7/8 inches.  The platemark measures 13X9 3'/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  We feel this is from the original 1700's printing and not a later restrike.

This is an early engraving by Bernardus Baron (1696-1766) Portrait of "John, Count of Nassau-Siegen and family", This engraving was created and printed in 1761. It is after the painting by Van Dyck. The engraving measures 20 1/2X18 1/2 inches, trimmed on the three sides, a tear in the upper right corner, not into the image area.Printed on a heavy weight laid type paper.

This 1920 etching by the American artist Joseph Pennell measures 9 3/4 x 7 7/8 inches, pencil signed, edition of probably 50 proofs, cat: Wuerth 740. Pennell was an important American etcher, lithographer and illustrator. Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes. He also printed many of his own images.

This is a fine original etching by American artist William Meyerowitz.  The title of this image is Calm Sea, it is most likely a scene of Gloucester Harbor.  This pencil signed impression measures 7X11 1/2 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image was created and printed circa 1930.  Its a rare etching by Meyerowitz.

This is an early wood engraving by American artist Asa Cheffetz.  This pencil signed impression is titled Early Morning, taken at Broad Brook in Connecticut in 1929.  The image measures 6X6 inches.  Hand signed and titled  in pencil..One of his finest wood engravings.  In fine condition.

Signed and numbered in ink. Plate signed and dated in the lower right. C. 1921. Plate measures 7 3/8 x 12 7/8 on 8 3/4 x 15 inch laid type paper. Catalog: Hardie 213. Print 8 in an edition of 76. Born into poverty, McBey was primarily self-taught, becoming a very well respected artist and leading figure of the British Etching Revival. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, America and the Middle East, creating remarkable etchings of the places he visited. This print has a unique perspective as well as a rich drypoint burr.

This is an original wood engraving by American artist Herbert Waters.  The title is: Arden Falls, Early Spring, created and printed in  1969 in an edition of 65 impressions.  This large image measures 5 1/2X15 3/4 inches.  Pencil signed, titled and numbered as 32/65.  Very fine condition, rich inking, incredible detail.  Arden Falls on the Tygart River  is in West Virginia .

This finely printed wood engraving by Surendorf measures 8 3/4 x 10 3/8 inches. It is matted and framed which measures 15 x 16 inches. The title, edition number and signature is in pencil on the lower margin. This strong impression is in excellent condition. Surendorf studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in NYC. He was a full member of the California Society of Etchers and the San Francisco Art Association. His works are included in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation in San Francisco, the Smithsonian Institute and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
