Prints

This is an original etching by American artist Gifford Beal.  The title is Afterglow, created and printed in 1940 in an edition of 100.  This etching is pencil signed and numbered.  The image measures 9X11 3/4 inches.  This image came to us directly from the artist's family.

Original drypoint etching by American artist Arthur Heintzelman.  This is titled: Mater Dolorosa, it was created and printed in 1924 in an edition of 80.  Hand signed in pencil.  The image measures 7X 4 3/8 inches. This is one of his series of etchings base on the Passion of Christ.  This etching is  Currently Framed.

This is an original etching by French artist Louis Legrand.  The title is: Le Bon Bedeau, (The Good Beadle)  It was created and printed in 1905 in an edition of 50.  The image measures 21 1/4X14 1/4 inches.  Pencil signed lower right with the red publishers stamp next to the signature.  Editioned as 8/40.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

Etching, image size 4 1/8 x 10 1/8 inches, plate signed l.r. "S. Haden" and titled l.l. "Out of Study Window H", pencil signed l.r. "Seymore Haden".

This is an original mezzotint etching by British artist Percival Gaskell.  This view of river rapids has an image of 9 1/2X 13 5/8 inches.  Pencil signed lower right border, printed on a chin collet adhered to a thicker sheet.  Printed with a warm toned ink.  Gaskell is one of the best of the early British mezzotint artists.

This is a fine original etching by American artist Gabrielle de Vaux Clements.  This image of sailboats in Gloucester Harbor is pencil signed lower right,  It has an image size of 3X3 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.

Pencil signed in the lower right. Ca. 1936. Plate measures 9 3/4 x 14 1/2 inches on 11 x 17 inch laid type paper. This print shows good use of plate toning and negative space.

Etching by Nicolas Mignard after the frescoes of Annibale Carracci depicting scenes from Homer's Odyssey. Plate size 9 7/8 x 17 5/8, published by Pierre Mariette in 1637, with lettering in Latin below the image. Printed on a very early watermarked laid type paper.

This is an original etching by American artist Troy Kinney.  The title of this work is: "The Rehearsal", it  was created and printed in 1929.  The subject is the Rehearsal of the Gavrilov Ballet Troupe, with Mr. Anesander Gavrilov and Miss Geraldine Spencer.  This etching is pencil signed and inscribed," with best wishes to my friend Dr. Conrad Bevens...?  The image measures 8 1/2X11 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This is a rare original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is: "Northern Moorland,Marblehead".  It was created and printed in 1881.  The image measures 8 3/4X16 1/8 inches.  This image is plate signed and has the Parrish family stamp in the border on the far left.  This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 42.

Pencil and plate signed in bottom right. Plate size measures 6 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches on 11 1/2 x 9 1/4 wove type paper. Featured in Fine Prints of the Year in 1927.

This is an original pencil signed etching of New York City by American artist Karl Dehmann (1886-1974)  This image is of Broadway, N.Y.  created and printed circa 1928.  The image measures 10 7/8X6 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper with a crown watermark.

This a drypoint etching C. 1920. Plate measures 9 7/8 x 8 inches on 15 1/4 x 11 1/8 inch wove paper. Pencil signed in the lower right. A dynamic and joyful print with good use of plate toning. Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club. This image is a great example of Davis' use of delicate lines and simple compositions to elegantly capture the beauty of the female figure.
