Plate monogrammed in the bottom center. Numbered 227. Plate measures 12 5/8 x 15 inches on 18 1/2 x 19 1/2 inch wove type paper. An atmospheric print with lovely, muted colors. T. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and traveled extensively throughout Europe, as well as Asia and the U.S. He lived in Paris from 1905-1913, then returned to Prague to teach at the Academy of Fine Arts. Simon was an exceptional painter and printmaker, and is best known for his atmospheric color etchings and aquatints.

Etching by the American artist, John Taylor Arms measuring 14 x 9 1/2 inches, pencil signed, inscribed "Third State" on lower margin, 1929, edition of 100, printed by Henry E. Carling, from the "French Church Series #26", cat: Fletcher-219. John Taylor Arms was one of the foremost American printmakers of the 20th century, known for his exquisite compositions and exacting details which gave his etchings a very realistic, almost photographic appearance.

This is a fine original etching by American artist Otto Ostrowsky.  It was taken from his series on the construction of sections of the New York Subway system in Manhattan, created and printed in 1937.  The image is pencil signed and measures 10X13 1/2 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.

This is an original etching by American artist Joseph Pennell. The title of this work is: "Carriage Approach to Pennsylvania Station, N.Y. This etching was created and printed in 1919, in an edition of only 50.
The image measures 11 3/4X7 inches, hand signed in pencil lower border. The signature has the imp after the artists name meaning that he printed this one himself.

This is a beautiful, intimate portrait of a Depression-era worker by Albert Abramovitz. Linocut, image size 7 x 4 1/2 inches, c. 1930s, pencil signed and titled. Abramovitz was known for his dramatic images with sharp social commentary, many portraying the hardships of daily life for working class people in both America and Russia. Born in Latvia, Abramovitz studied at the Imperial Art School in Odessa and the Grande Chaumiere in Paris. While in Paris he was a member and juror of the Paris Salon, and won the Grand Prize at the Universal Exposition in Rome and Turin, Italy. In the 1920s Abramovitz emigrated to America, first the west coast then settled in New York City where he lived for the rest of his life. He created a number of prints for the WPA, and his work was included in exhibitions by the Union of American Artists, the American Artist's Congress, the ACA Gallery and the National Academy of Design.

This is an original etching by American 19th century printmaker, Stephen Parrish.  The title is: A Showery Day, St. Augustine  This image was created and printed in 1884.  The image measures 5 5/8X9 5/8 inches.  It is hand signed in pencil and has the title written in the artists hand in the lower margin.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  This image appears in the Schneider catalog as image number 100.

A richly inked drypoint etching from 1926. Catalog reference: Gaunt 325. Edition of 53. Pencil signed in the lower right. Plate measures 11 3/4 x 16 3/4 inches on 18 1/4 x 23 1/2 inch wove type paper. Sir Frank Brangwyn was one of the most important British artists of the early 20th century. A member of the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists, he was knighted in 1924.

Etching and drypoint on copper, image size: 5 1/2 x 8 5/16 inches, dated 1877, State V, cat. Scheniderman-172, pencil signed lower right. One of Haden's interests apart from being a Surgeon and printmaker was fishing. He created a number of outstanding scenes based on river fishing, his most famous being "The Complete Angler" and "Grayling Fishing." This is a wonderful example of building a composition centered on this well-known fishing hole. Provenance: Baldwin-Wallace College.

This is a pencil signed etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is: On the Rance, Brittany.  It was created and printed in 1887.  The image measures 4 3/4X9 1/4 inches, printed with a warm toned ink.  A small imperfection at the upper edge of the plate.  It appears to have been a flaw in the copper plate.  This River runs through Dinan on its way north to St. Malo in Brittany.  This etching is framed with archival materials.
