This is an original pencil signed color aquatint etching by Austrian artist Tavik F. Simon.  The title of this work is: Saint Nicholas Market in Staromestske Namesti, which was part of his  Prague series, created and printed in 1916.  The edition was 225 impressions.  Printed on a medium weight arches watermarked wove type paper. The image measures 12 5/8X15 1/2 inches.  Very fine condition.  This image appears in the Novak catalog as image number 268.

The subject and title is: Dinant, This etching was created and printed by the artist in 1907, hand signed in pencil, The image measures 7 15/16X13 15/16 inches.  Printed on a light weight laid type sheet.  This image appears in the Rinder catalog as image number 395.  The edition was thought to be less than 75.  A fine rich impression.

This is a rare early etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is Brasserie, Au Lion Rouge, created and printed in 1893 in an edition of only 40 impressions.  The image measures 6 1/4X8 1/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil and also signed by the printer Goulding.  This early image shows the influence that Whistler had on Pennell, in both the style and technique.  Nice use of plate tone within the image.  This image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 188.  A fine view of a Paris Brasserie.  This impression was last sold by Frederick Keppel and Co in New York. This is a fine original lithograph by American artist Don Freeman.  One of his State series, this image measures 9 5/8X11 7/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil.  This lithograph was printed in an edition of 85.  A fine back stage view of the stage hands, some at Pinochle, while  "up in the Fly loft, the curtain always comes down to the split second."  This image appears in the Freeman catalog as image number 97.

This is a very richly inked original etching by French artist Albert Besnard. The image size is 11 3/8 x 7 5/8 inches, published in 1887 in an edition of fewer than 100 impressions, cat: Coppier- 63, pencil signed. Besnard studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and for the beginning of his artistic career concentrated on a very academic style of painting and composition, before adopting a more impressionistic approach of portraying light and color; later he went to England to study portraiture with Thomas Gainesborough and Joshua Reynolds.

This is an original wood block print by American artist Isac Friedlander.  Created circa 1930 this image is titled: "Companions", It is pencil signed and titled in the lower border.  The image measures 11 3/4X9 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  Isac Friedlander (1890-1968) was born in Mitau, Latvia. He was arrested in 1906 and imprisoned by Russian authorities for anti- Czarist Political activities from 1906 to 1912. He studied art at the Academy of Rome, Italy from 1913 until 1917. He was a friend of Russian writer Maxim Gorky. Friedlander began his printing career in 1915. In 1917 he repatriated to Russia during the Kerensky regime, but in 1929 Friedlander immigrated to the US with the encouragement of his cousin Joseph Hirshhorn.

"The Three Sisters" by Sir Francis Seymour Haden measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches, pencil signed, 1868, state VI/V, cat: Schneiderman-119. Sir Francis Seymour Haden was one of the most important British etchers of the 19th century, along with his brother in law James Whistler. In addition to being a highly regarded artist he was a successful surgeon, accomplished author and dedicated angler. He was a founder and the first president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and was knighted in 1894.

Print 61 in an edition of 75. Signed in the lower left, editioned in the lower right. Plate initialed and dated "1926" in the lower right. Second state. Catalog: Laboureur 323. The image depicts the cliffs along the coast of Penestin, France. Plate measures 9 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches on 15 x 9 5/8 inch watermarked wove type paper. Collector's stamp on back. This print has very fine engraved lines and a very whimsical style. Laboureur studied at the Academie Julian under Auguste Lepere before traveling extensively throughout Germany, Italy and Greece. He returned to Paris in 1910, just when Cubism was being explored, and fully embraced it, incorporating it into his distinct style. He founded the Société des Peintres-Graveurs Indépendants in 1923 and its members included Braque, Dufy, Vlamnick, Laurencin and Segonzac.
