This a drypoint etching C. 1920. Plate measures 9 7/8 x 8 inches on 15 1/4 x 11 1/8 inch wove paper. Pencil signed in the lower right. A dynamic and joyful print with good use of plate toning. Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club. This image is a great example of Davis' use of delicate lines and simple compositions to elegantly capture the beauty of the female figure.

This is a fine original line engraving by British artist Robert S. Austin.  The title is "Scythes Resting in a Tree",created and printed in 1928, the image measures 5X3 1/2 inches.  Pencil signed by the artist, numbered 11/75.  Robert Sargent Austin was a highly respected illustrator and engraver, sometimes regarded as the last great English engraver. He taught at the Royal College of Art and was eventually elected president of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers.

This lovely image of a young girl by the English printmaker Mortimer Menpes measures 5 3/4 x 3 1/2 inches and is pencil signed with an "imp" after his name indicating he was the printer. Etching and drypoint, dated 1882 in the plate. Menpes attended the School of Art in London in 1878 and started exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1880. He became a major figure in the etching revival, producing more than seven hundred different etchings and drypoints, which he usually printed himself.
